Superintendent Profile:

May the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be upon you. I have always been a member of the Assemblies of God Church, but I was introduced to Victory Christian Centre Assemblies of God Church in April 2004 and became a member may 2004. It is a very wonderful Christ Family to be in and I am very proud to be part of.

A month later after becoming a member, I was appointed as the Sunday School Superintendent for the church. I have also been involved with Sunday school for some years prior to this appointment, so it was a joy to be honoured and to be part of a setting that I have always loved to be part of.

I thank God for such a privilege. If it was not the Lord on my side where would I be? Blessed be His Holy name. Sunday school is God’s Business!! Sunday school is My Business!!

Sunday School PURPOSE and ACHIEVEMENT

Sunday School Department is in consonance with the Assemblies of God tradition and is in inseparable part of the Sunday Service.

The main purpose of Sunday School is to teach the members to be well established and rooted in the word of God, so that they will not be swayed by any false doctrine. It is also to serve as a source of encouragement for the members to study and have effective fellowship with one another.

As the members get to know the word of God, and are well established and rooted in it they then develop in the desire to reach out to the lost and perishing. And also to serve as a medium of evangelism.

ACHIEVEMENTS
The Sunday school has achieved a lot since it's establishment. These achievements are too many to be enumerated here, but there are some outstanding ones that can not be overlooked.
Most of the pastors that the church has produced had been Sunday School teachers. Infact, in Assemblies of God Churches, the greater percentage of the pastors have come from the Sunday school teachers. By the hard work of the Holy Spirit through the Children's Teachers, most of the children can now be able to read and meditate and pray as well. Praise The Lord!

Sunday school has grown numerical as well as spiritual to the extent that there are now active four adults (4) adults classes and two (2) children's classes

We now have eight (8) Adults Teachers and Seven (7) Children's teachers.
Slogan: Sunday school is God's Business! Sunday school is my business!!
Goals: * Sunday school should be more active in evangelism and more rooted in the Gospel of Grace. * That, God will called to his service more dedicated servant to serve in his vineyard especially women in the Adults Classes Slogan: Sunday school, God’s business!!! Sunday school, our business!!! What We Stand for, What We do and Our Request to all Parents. NUMBER OF CHILDREN. The number of children in the Sunday school department ranges between 90 and 100 on Sundays, the average attendance is 70. CLASSES The children are grouped into two classes, Older (PFY) and Children classes. The older (PFY) class is made up of children of the ages 9 and above. The younger class is made up of children less than 9 years. SOME OF THE THINGS OUR TEACHERS TEACH US Our teachers mostly teach us from the Sunday school children book. Also, they teach us stories of the bible like Noah and the flood, Jonah. We are also taught in the older class on why we celebrate Christmas and Easter, why it is important to give offering when you come to church, about the books of the bible and importantly about reality of salvation. Our teachers also answer us or clarify things to us if we have been taught something in school that confuses us. FIVE ITEMS The five items that every Sunday school child should bring every Sunday are BIBLE, PEN/PENCIL, NOTE BOOK, OFFERING AND A BAG (to carry their items) With the help of the church, every child who is able to read has been provided with a bible. I want to on behalf of my friends and our teachers urge every parent to provide and ensure that the three other items i.e. Pen/Pencil, Notebook and Offering are given to us every Sunday before coming to church so that we can put them in our church bag. I also want to thank you on behalf of my friends for bringing us to church and all other efforts you make to ensure that we grow up to know God. Before we end, we would like to appeal to you, our parents, to always make sure we are at church with you since we believe the best place to learn values to help us grow up to be a responsible people is the church. If not for anything, because of us (children), at the least opportunity, please come to the house of God with us. Sunday school, God’s business!!! Sunday school, Our business!!!
